Each year, the annual LRE Forum organised by the LRE Foundation brings together members, partners and tourism stakeholders to hear updates from experts, network, and attend specialised travel trade events.

The 2023 edition will be held in Florence from 28 February until 3 March and is organised in collaboration with the LRE Italy association. The LRE Forum 2023 programme is designed to encourage partners and stakeholders to develop new ideas and practices through a selection of exciting activities:

1 March

A great occasion to meet with other members, exchange ideas and best practices across the network and hear the Foundation’s latest updates on past projects and upcoming plans.

An event to inform and inspire all the Foundation’s stakeholders with interesting in-depth keynotes, panel discussions and outstanding speakers.

2 March

A thematic trade show where representatives from remembrance sites, museums, and tourism destinations network with the travel trade stakeholders to offer unique tourism products and to form partnerships to reach a broader international audience.

Site Visits in Tuscany
2-3 March

Pack your comfortable shoes and get ready to explore the beautiful landmarks of Tuscany. Guided tours will be organised to visit the many of the museums and memorials telling the stories of Italy during WWII and especially the Gothic Line.

Travel to Florence

By train

Florence is located two hours by train from Rome, with direct trains leaving the capital from Rome Termini station. The city is also easily reachables from Milan (2h) and Bologna (40 minutes).

By plane

Florence has three international airports nearby  : Aeroporto di Firenze-Peretola (FLR), Bologna (BLQ) and Pisa (PSA), with daily flights from destinations worldwide.

By car

With its strategic location in Central Italy, Florence is easily reachable by car. Please consult Google Maps to find the most convenient route for you.
